Houston Rockets Rumors: Ronnie Brewer Latest Free Agent Signing For Dwight Howard ESPN Sources Report

The Houston Rockets are heading into the season with championship expectations with Dwight Howard and now the team is adding more to the bench and depth on the roster, signing Ronnie Brewer to a deal.

According to ESPN.com, sources said that Brewer signed a two-year deal with the team and will be a defensive specialist off the bench. Last season Brewer was with the Knicks and the OKC Thunder, but did not play much in the playoffs after being traded to OKC from New York, appearing in one game. Brewer started in 34 games appeared in 46 for the Knicks and now Houston has 18 players with partially-guaranteed contracts, meaning when training camp hits cuts will come.

Brewer averaged 10.1 minutes while playing in 14 games with the Thunder and he will be used off the bench in defensive situations. The Rockets also signed Omri Casspi, Marcus Camby and Aaron Brooks back in the offseason and added Francisco Garcia to join Patrick Beverley, Omer Asik and Terrence Jones on the bench.
