NY Knicks Rumors: Carmelo Anthony Helps 97 Percent Ticket Renewal At Madison Square Garden, New York Ready For NBA Championship Run?

The New York Knicks know that without a deep run this season they could lose Carmelo Anthony in the future and after adding depth to the roster in the offseason, fans are excited, as reports have come out that there is a 97 percent renewal on season tickets for the team.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the Knicks have the highest renewal rate in over 10 years, beating out last season with 95 percent after getting over 97 percent this time around. The team feels that having Anthony as well as additions like Andrea Bargnani, Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih will help the team make a run and after re-signing JR Smith and Pablo Prigioni, the fan base is hungry for more.

The team won the division and over 50 games last season after being an albatross for a decade and now they are a legitimate annual threat as long as they keep Anthony. Mike Woodson showed he is the right man for the job and after winning the scoring title with a lesser supporting cast last season, Anthony could have an even better year this year and so could the Knicks.

The East will be even harder to beat this time around with Derrick Rose returning to the Bulls and while the Miami Heat still will be very strong, the Knicks feel they can challenge LeBron James for the first time. The Indiana Pacers are much improved as well after trading for Luis Scola and signing back David West and the Knicks will need their frontcourt to stay healthy this season.

The Garden is in the midst of a billion dollar renovation and owner James Dolan has to be happy about the season ticket rates staying high. The team closes the preseason in October with the Bobcats on the 25th and will open the regular season schedule against the Bucks on October 30.
