As the life of NBA star Lamar Odom continues to spiral out of control, friends and family now fear the worst after the former two-time NBA champion goes missing for nearly 72 hours.
TMZ has reported that people on Odom's side, and ones of his wife's, Khole Kardashian, side have not been able to make contact with him and there are fears that he's hiding out continuing his rumored drug abuse of crack cocaine.
TMZ first broke the story about the alleged drug addiction, saying that Odom has been addicted for the last two years. His addiction is also reportedly the principle reason to being the cause of the crisis in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian.
Odom supposedly went to a rehab facility a year ago and stayed there for three weeks before leaving.
Sources say Odom's crack abuse was so extreme before going into rehab, but he cleaned up in time for last year's NBA season. However, sources say at the conclusion of the season he was back to his abuse.
It's unclear how Lamar's problem will affect his basketball career.
After a disappointing season with the Dallas Mavericks and a mediocre season with the Los Angeles Clippers, Odom has been left to contemplate his immediate future in the NBA as a free agent. He's received interest from both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Clippers but has reportedly been on the fence in terms of deciding on which of the two teams he would sign with.
The Clippers appeared to be ready to sign Odom to the veteran's minimum while keeping former Laker Antawn Jamison in limbo. As for the Lakers, the team expressed interest in the Odom, but have seemingly moved on signing rookie forward Elias Harris recently.
