The NBA season is fast approaching with the calendar moving towards September and as teams try to finish out their rosters before training camp, some of the top names left on the market include Richard Hamilton, Antawn Jamison, Lamar Odom and Ivan Johnson as well as Tyrus Thomas.
Hamilton was with the Bulls last season and according to Bleacher Report, he has some options in the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards and he could be a nice veteran option off the bench. The 35-year-old star has dealt with injuries over the past few seasons and according to the report, he has missed at least 27 games in each of the four years, making him a risky option to bring in on a deal.
Hamilton could head back to Detroit to join his old teammate Chauncey Billups and the Bulls may pass on signing him after bringing in Mike Dunleavy and drafting Tony Snell. Hamilton has averaged nearly 20 points in his career and could be a nice veteran option off the bench. Antawn Jamison appears to be signing with the LA Clippers after interest from the Bulls and that means Lamar Odom's options are with the LA Lakers. At first the team appeared to want Odom more, but he is currently dealing with some off the court issues.
Odom has dealt with injury issues over the past couple seasons and Jamison had problems last year as well, but he also averaged close to 20 points the season before that and he could add some depth to the bench. Other teams interested include the Bulls and the Grizzlies, so he should be able to find some work.
Ivan Johnson was with the Hawks for the past two years and he may end up playing overseas again after previously playing in China, Puerto Rico and South Korea. His agent said that he has deal options overseas if the NBA contracts don't come and while the New York Knicks were interested, that time may have passed. Last season he averaged 6.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.8 steals and if no one goes after him he could end up overseas again.
