Monday Morning Quarterback Peter King: Arian Foster Stars In New Column As Rex Ryan Job Security, Roster Cuts, Kevin Kolb Concussions In The MMQB

Aug 26, 2013 10:07 AM EDT

The third week of the NFL preseason is just about done and with teams around the league looking to settle their rosters before the final game of the preseason, there are a number of notable players that could be on the chopping block, including New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow and NFL writer Peter King has all the scoop in his column Monday Morning Quarterback on The MMQB.com.

King dives deep this week as teams are looking at roster cuts and the main topic is running back Arian Foster, one of the top studs in the NFL who is also dealing with some injuries heading into the season. King looks at the unique style and personality of Foster and also stacks him up next to the best running backs today, including Chris Johnson, Steven Jackson, Ray Rice and Michael Turner, who have had the most carries since 2010.

Foster has had the most carries and most yards as well as the most yards per carry and he is nearly 100 higher than Turner, who is second with 857 carries while foster has 956. The workhorse has been one of the best in the NFL, but that wear is starting to show. Foster will need to be healthy for the Texans to be successful.

King also looks at Michael Vick and the Eagles offense and how fast they will run this season and wrote about their play in the preseason. There are 10 days until the season opens with the Broncos and Ravens and King also jumps into the Saints and some of their work from the preseason and the defense.

King also delves into Rex Ryan and how he basically screwed himself for the season by totally mismanaging the game against the New York Giants. The team won the game, but they may lose in the long run, as Geno Smith was terrible and Mark Sanchez was injured. King also looks at Kevin Kolb and his concussion as well as the Jacksonville Jaguars.
