Rafael Nadal hits the Arthur Ashe Stadium court, where he will play in his first round match at the 2013 U.S. Open. Can't watch the match on TV, check out the livestream available for free online as Nadal looks to improve on a disappointing 2013 Wimbledon experience.
Nadal is red hot entering the final grand slam of the year. Though hard courts have never been considered Nadal's favorite, the Spaniard is 15-0 on hard courts this season. In two weeks, Nadal won at Montreal and then followed that victory with a win at Cincinnati. As ATP World Tour points out in their review of Nadal's year, Nadal "won back-to-back hard-court finals in successive weeks for the first time in his career."
Nadal might have lost in the first round at Wimbledon, but he's letting opponents know that he's still dangerous. Nadal's is gunning for the No. 1 rank in ATP Tennis, sitting just a little beyond 2,000 points from Novak Djokovic. Nadal is the No. 2 seed and rank in Men's Singles entering the 2013 U.S. Open.
Being that the tournament takes place in the U.S., many American players will receive a lot of attention. Ryan Harrison doesn't have an impressive career like Nadal, but he's a hometown favorite. Born in Louisiana, he's a couple of miles away from his birthplace, but the 21-year-old should get plenty of support from the crowd. This will be his fourth U.S. Open tournament. Harrison has never played beyond the second round at any grand slam tournament.
Will Harrison embarrass tennis' hottest player? Will Nadal rise to the occasion? Don't miss a minute of the action as the Men's Singles No. 2, Nadal takes on a young American, Harrison.
