Real Madrid have placed blame on Tottenham as the summer-long Gareth Bale transfer saga continues to drag out.
The 24-year-old has been in headlines all summer over a possible move to the Spanish giants in what would be a world record £86m deal.
Despite the ongoing process, Real has remained confident that they'll be able to finally get their hands on the Welshman, according to vice-president Fernando Fernandez Tapias who said:
"I think it will happen but I cannot make any firm promises.
"We're going to wait because they are dragging their feet. There are a few problems but I hope they will soon be resolved. We thought that he would be with us now but as of the moment he is not a Real Madrid player although it looks likely that he will join us."
As the Bale saga still awaits a conclusion, on Thursday Brazilian midfielder Kaká claimed he is on his way out of Real despite scoring twice in a friendly with Deportivo La Coruna.
"I have less and less of a place on the team" says Kaká. "The club knows that I would like to leave and I want it to help me find a solution for my exit."
With Major League Soccer being rumored to be the next landing destination for the former World Player of the Year, the Madrid playmaker believes staying in Europe is his only option and has also ruled out a switch to any Brazilian sides.
"I cannot go to Brazil because the market is closed the exit would be within Europe" Kaká said. "I don't want to talk about clubs because I have none at this stage."
