The MLB playoffs are right around the corner and with September coming on the calendar, there will be plenty of games with postseason implications and some series coming up have that in store, including games with the Orioles, Yankees, Rays, Athletics, Red Sox, Cardinals, Pirates and Reds.
Boston currently is in first place in the AL East by 2.5 games and are in good position to win the division, but after being in the same spot two years ago, everyone knows what happened then. The Tigers have a commanding lead in the AL Central while the Rangers are tops by three games over the A's.
The Braves have already basically locked up the East in the NL, while the Dodgers have done the same out West. The Central is tough with the Cardinals, Pirates and Reds separated by about four games and in the wild card it appears that two of those teams will make it. The Rays and A's will play and they currently are in the wild card spots in the AL and the Yankees and Orioles will be playing big games as they try to catch up.
Some upcoming series include:
Baltimore at NY Yankees
Tampa Bay at Oakland
Detroit at Boston
St. Louis at Cincinnati
LA Dodgers at Colorado
