The Los Angeles Lakers are working on filling out their roster for the upcoming 2013-14 season and if the team opts to keep draft pick Ryan Kelly, they will have 14 players and room for one more and names include Lou Amundson and Xavier Henry as free agent options.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, Amundson has had interest from the Lakers and the Clippers and there is a chance that he could sign with either team in the coming week. The Lakers would like to add more size to the rotation with Elias Harris, Jordan Hill and Robert Sacre as well as Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman and he could be a nice fit. The Lakers currently have 12 players under contract and likely will keep Kelly depending how his rehab goes from a foot injury and Amundson could be next after previously playing for a number of teams.

Amundson was good with the Suns while playing with Steve Nash and he has also played with the Bulls, Timberwolves and New Orleans franchise. Amundson has career numbers of 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 12.8 minutes and last season he averaged 1.6 points in 20 games with the Wolves and played one with the Bulls and 18 with the Pelicans. Xavier Henry is another option according to Pro Basketball Talk, although he likely would be on a minimum deal if he came to the team.

Henry is coming off knee surgery and last season he played in 50 games for New Orleans and averaged 3.9 points. Henry could be a solid bench option for the team and despite losing Dwight Howard, the Lakers have added some nice players and depth with Nick Young and Wesley Johnson.

The team won 45 games last season and ranked sixth in points per game and 22nd in points allowed and this season they will focus on improving their defense. If Pau Gasol and Nash can stay healthy, the Lakers will be back in the postseason.
