Honduras travels to Azteca Stadium hoping to leap over Mexico in the CONCACAF hexagonal standings. Despite Mexico's recent struggles, this will still be a sizable test for Luis Fernando Suárez's team.
El Tri are well aware of the pressure themselves and head coach José Manuel de la Torre are under. Just a single point separates Mexico from fourth place in the group and fifth-placed Panama are only two points back. They'll be boosted by a recent friendly victory over the Ivory Coast, where Giovanni dos Santos and Oribe Peralta led El Tri to a 4-1 victory. In addition, Honduras has never won at Azteca and hasn't beaten Mexico since 2009.
With a match against the United States looming, anything less than three points for Mexico will likely put Chepo's job in serious jeopardy.
