Sep 07, 2013 08:41 AM EDT

The College GameDay season got kicked off with a fantastic game in Clemson with the Tigers taking on the Georgia Bulldogs and Chris Fowler and crew were there to see it all and now that the season has started, Week 2 will bring the boys to Ann Arbor for the always fantastic tradition of Michigan and Notre Dame playing on Saturday night.

The two teams will not play in the future for some time after putting the rivalry on hold, but that won't take anything away from the intensity on Saturday and the fans will be ready, as the Wolverines are ranked in the top 25 and coach Brady Hoke has everyone feeling high expectations for the season despite losing star quarterback Denard Robinson to the NFL.

Michigan is ranked 17th in the nation heading into the game, while the Fighting Irish are also in the top 20 at number 14 and this will be one of the best matchups for Week 2 of the season, especially with Alabama out of action. The game will be on ESPN at the Big House at Michigan Stadium at 8 pm and the game can be watched on the WatchESPN online streaming site and so can College GameDay in the morning, which now starts at 9 am for all those early college football fans.

The GameDay crew has not been back to Michigan for quite some time and the last time they were back was in, believe it or not, week two of the season, Wolverines and Notre Dame playing at the Big House. Back then, Robinson was still running around Ann Arbor and he led the team to a 35-31 win with four touchdowns and now the team will try to win it again. Michigan has been on GameDay 23 times and the Irish 24 and Michigan comes in having won 13, while the Irish have won 11 and now the series between the two schools is in Michigan's favor.

Michigan started off the season with a big 59-9 victory over Central Michigan and the offense looked very good with Devin Gardner leading the way and now they will play one of their toughest opponents of the season in Notre Dame. The team will play Akron and UConn after that before hosting Minnesota and then the team will travel to play Penn State and that game will be on ESPN.

Indiana is up next before Michigan State on the road and then is number 22 Nebraska and number 19 Northwestern and those two games could be tough and then the team will play Iowa. The toughest game is obviously number three Ohio State to finish the season and that could decide the conference. Notre Dame opened with a huge 28-6 win over Temple and will play Michigan and then on the road against Purdue before playing Michigan State at home.

The Irish will then play number 16 Oklahoma and Arizona State before hosting number 25 USC and then the team will play Air Force and Navy before playing Pitt on the road. The end of the season at home against BYU and then on the road at number 5 Stanford could be very tough for Brian Kelly and company.
