The final weekend without NFL football has officially ended and with the Denver Broncos beating the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night to open the season, football is finally back in full swing and on Sunday there will be games with plenty of intrigue, including when Darrelle Revis visits his old team in the Jets at MetLife Stadium.
Some of the best games of the week include the 49ers and the Packers on Fox, as well as the Panthers hosting the Seahawks on Fox as well at 1 pm. The Saints and Falcons are playing on Fox and the best week 1 game on CBS is the Patriots and Bills as well as the intriguing matchup of Darrelle Revis coming back to play the Jets at MetLife.
There are some very exciting games during Week 1, including Baltimore heading back to Denver where they defeated the Broncos in spectacular fashion in the playoffs, while the Giants will try to return the favor to the Cowboys by winning on opening night after Dallas defeated them last season. Some of the other Week 1 matchups include New England visiting Buffalo for the first Patriots and Bills AFC East game, while the Bengals will visit Soldier Field to play the Chicago Bears.
The Dolphins are hosting the Browns in Miami at 1 pm, while the Falcons will play their NFC South rivals in the New Orleans Saints at the SuperDome. The Bucs and Jets are playing at the Meadowlands, while the Titans and Steelers will be playing in Pitt. The Vikings are starting their division schedule against the Lions, while the Raiders will be visiting "The Drum" to play the Indianapolis Colts.
The Seattle Seahawks start with an East coast trip to the Carolina Panthers as an early game, while the Arizona Cardinals and Rams will be one of the second games on Fox. One of the top matchups for Week 1 is the Packers visiting the San Francisco 49ers and on the first Sunday night of the season the Giants will play against the Cowboys in Dallas.
The Monday night schedule is a double header with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins playing first, while the Houston Texans will visit the San Diego Chargers in the late game. Andy Reid will visit his old haunts in Philadelphia in Week 3, while the Cardinals will host coach Bruce Arians' old team in the Colts in Week 12.
