Frank Lampard will earn his 100th cap for his country when England take on Ukraine in their 2014 World Cup qualifier Tuesday.
England manager Roy Hodgson confirmed Lampard would be the third England player in the last few months to make their 100th appearance.
"All things being equal, Frank will start the game tomorrow (Tuesday) night and win his hundredth cap," Hodgson said.
"Fourteen years is a long time to represent your country.
"We don't have that many international matches and the number of friendlies will get less rather than more, so anyone who wants to get to 100 caps for their country will have to reach a lot of major tournaments and play for a long time."
Lampard confirmed that he is close to calling time on his international career and would like to go out on a high by not just qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil, but also winning it.
"I never dreamt of getting anywhere near 100 caps, it's a huge honor and I won't take it lightly," Lampard told reporters.
"I don't know if I'm playing yet, the manager hasn't said anything; you just wait and try and prepare as always.
"I'll be very proud if I get on the pitch, I just hope to be involved. And the main thing is we get that result."
England go into the game against Ukraine needing at least a draw to retain their control of the group, with Lampard set to play with skipper Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole -- two players who recently reached the 100 appearance club.
"I enjoy being with this group of players," Lampard added. "I enjoy the manager, I have a lot of respect for him.
"In enjoy playing alongside Steven and Ashley, who I have played with a long time, and England as a whole -- we want to get to the World Cup."
