The fantasy football season is moving into Week 2 after a very big week for some players and with even more games coming on Thursday, Sunday and Monday, fantasy owners are looking for the biggest edge to try and win their matchups and some players to watch include Ahmad Bradshaw, Da'Rel Scott, Jamaal Charles, Anquan Boldin, Adrian Peterson and Jared Cook.
Quarterback Drew Brees had a very solid day for my team, but it was nothing like what Peyton Manning did, as he scored 50 points in some leagues after going for over 450 yards passing and seven touchdowns. Brees and Manning each got the wins for their teams, but it was Manning who was the fantasy MVP in Week 1. Brees passed for over 350 yards and had two touchdowns and now Manning will go up against a Giants defense that struggled against the Cowboys as they get ready for Week 2.
Anquan Boldin might be the best fantasy player right now apart from Peyton Manning, as he is the most experienced receiver among the 49ers' roster and now he should be getting plenty of attention as the team plays the Seahawks in Week 2. Boldin could get taken out by the stellar corner in Richard Sherman, but after the way he played in Week 1, chances are he should put up big numbers again this week.
Boldin was traded in the offseason for a sixth round pick from the Ravens and that is looking like the steal of the century, as Boldin looked very comfortable working with quarterback Colin Kaepernick and he ended up with 13 catches for 208 yards and a touchdown, more than the Ravens wideouts did against the Broncos combined. In most scoring systems, Boldin put up the second or third most points of the week behind Manning and Adrian Peterson as well as AJ Green in some leagues since he scored two touchdowns and now he is being looked at as a fantasy stud.
With Michael Crabtree done for the season, Boldin now is the number one option for Kaepernick. Da'Rel Scott was a late weekend pickup after seeing what happened to the Giants on Sunday night and while the team is planning on working out some veterans, Scott could end up being the biggest beneficiary of David Wilson's fumbling issues, as he could get some extra carries.
Scott made a bad play for allow an Eli Manning interception at the end of the game after a ball bounced off his fingers, but after rushing for 23 yards and adding five catches for over 50 yards he could be a sleeper in some leagues over the next couple weeks. The Giants are going to continue to use Wilson, but at least for the next game against the broncos, it could be Scott in the starting role for the team.
Brian Hartline had a very solid game for the Dolphins, while Jared Cook showed why he was a prime free agent signing, coming up with seven catches for over 140 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams win over the Cardinals. Adrian Peterson scored on his first carry of the season, while Hartline is looking like a number one in Miami. All these players could have big weeks this coming Sunday.
