The Atlanta Braves face the Miami Marlins for the last time this season and it should be a dandy. Check out the live stream of the Braves vs. Marlins as Atlanta tries to decrease its magic number to six games, getting them closer to clinching their division. First pitch is a little after 12:40 p.m. ET as both teams hook up in Marlins Park.
On the hill for the Braves will be veteran right-hander and former Seattle Mariner, Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillie, Detroit Tiger , New York Yankee and Baltimore Oriole, Freddy Garcia. Garcia was picked up by the Braves at the beginning of September. He has pitched 7.2 innings of one-run ball so far in 2013 with the Braves. This will be the first start for Garcia as a Brave.
Why is Garcia on the mound? Well, some fans are probably wondering why he's even on the team. Garcia will toe the rubber because Fredi Gonzalez is trying to give young lefty, Alex Wood, some rest before the postseason begins. Garcia made a relief appearance against the Marlins in his debut with the Braves. He went 4.2 innings, allowing three hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
Garcia will be opposed by youngster, Brian Flynn. Flynn is coming off his MLB debut against the Chicago Cubs. Don't be fooled. It might have been the Cubs, but Flynn struggled. He allowed three earned runs on two home runs over four innings pitched. Of course, it could have been worse. The best part of Flynn's outing was that the 23-year-old went home with a no-decision.
The Braves and Marlins exchanged some words yesterday, so it will be interesting to follow this game if in case Wednesday's issues carry over into Thursday's matinee.
