LeBron James Rumors: New York Knicks Free Agent Option For 2014 Can Be Explored In NBA 2K14

LeBron James is the reigning MVP winner in the NBA and with the possibility of free agency looking for the Miami Heat star, many have wondered what he will do next summer and the makers of the NBA 2K14 game have decided to give gamers a sneak peek.

According to Pro Basketball Talk, the new game that will be released in October with James on the cover will have some special features, including allowing players to look into the future at next summer. Since James is on the cover, he is featured in a new setting in the game that will put players in his shoes through his NBA career, including next summer when he can make the choice to opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat to become a free agent.

The report says that the "Path to Greatness" mode gives players two options heading into the summer, staying with the Heat or deciding to opt out and sign with the New York Knicks, where of course he will get to play with and against some of the top players in the league and while some in reality hope that ends up true, it likely will not. Rumors have the Los Angeles Lakers chasing James hard, but recent reports have said that those stories are not true and that the team will not chase him.

Knicks fans hoped back when James first became a free agent that he would consider coming to New York, but it never got even close and now he could have the chance to do it again, but it is very unlikely. The Knicks have too much money wrapped up in other players and with them having to re-sign Carmelo Anthony as well, James likely will only join the Knicks in video games.
