So now that everybody has gone through the Floyd Mayweather Jr. withdrawals, the question is, "When will Manny Pacquiao fight next?" The Filipino boxer has stepped away from the boxing life after being knocked out by Juan Marquez, but the 34-year-old is soon to step back into the ring as his opponent and fight date are already set.
No, of course not. His next opponent will not be Mayweather Jr. The word around the boxing world has it that Pacman's trainer, Freddie Roach, has the secret to beating Mayweather Jr. This would explain why Money Mayweather and his team always hesitate when discussions of facing Pacquiao arise.
So who is next on Pacquiao's list?
Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios is the next guy set to join Pacquiao in the ring. Rios is 27 years old and has been boxing since 2004. Without a doubt, Pacquiao will be his toughest opponent. Like Pacquiao, Rios is coming off a loss. He lost by unanimous decision as Mike Alvarado won in 12 rounds by a unanimous decision. This was the second time Rios and Alvarado had faced off and Rios had walked away victorious in a very tight fight. He knocked out Alvarado in the seventh round, winning the bout.
When is the fight?
The fight is scheduled for Saturday, November 23 in China.
Pacquiao will try to win his first bout since beating Marquez back in 2012. He was knocked out by Marquez in his last fight last year and lost by split decision to Timothy Bradley, though many thought Pacquiao deserved to get the victory.
