When and where: The DFB Pokal final kicks-off at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin at 2 p.m. ET. A live stream will be available via ESPN3.
Preview: Borussia Dortmund go into Saturday's DFB Pokal final looking to confirm their domestic dominance over Bayern Munich. Jurgen Klopp's young side finished a commanding eight points clear of Germany's most illustrious club as they claimed their second-consecutive Bundesliga crown with a record points toal.
The title was all-but sewn up with a 1-0 for Dortmund over Bayern just over a month ago, a result that gave BVB a league double over their rivals.
And Klopp is desperate to take full advantage of a squad that features exceptional young talent like Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels, Shinji Kagawa and Robert Lewandowski to win the first double in their history.
"We want to make the most of this opportunity. We have an exceptional team and are in fine form, and you know what, after 103 years I reckon it's about our turn," he said, according toDortmund's official website.
But Bayern too could still achieve a double of their own this season. A win on Saturday, coupled with a victory at over Chelsea in the Champions League final and, despite missing out on the league, it would still be a season to remember for the Bavarians.
A key factor for Bayern could be ensuring that the squad is fully focused on the match with Dortmund rather than the European showpiece taking place in their home ground next week.
"We are taking it step-by-step," said Bayern boss Juup Heynckes, according to Dortmund's official website. "We can´t avoid thinking about it but we are focused on the German Cup Final. It is a huge game in itself, and afterwards we can move on to the game in Munich."
Team News: Dortmund boss Klopp has said he expects to have a dull squad to choose from, with Sven Bender and Lucas Barrios both expected to recover from their injuries. Klopp has also suggested that Gotze will have to make do with starting on the bench.
Bayern only have long-term absentees Daniel van Buyten and Breno missing from their squad for the final. Against Koln last week, Bayern prepared for the Champions League final by leaving out those players suspended for the clash with Chelsea. But Heynckes is expected to name a full-strength side against Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund (probable, 4-2-3-1): Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer; Kehl, Gundogan; Blaszczykowski, Kagawa, Grosskreutz; Lewandowski.
Bayern Munich (probable, 4-2-3-1): Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Scweinsteiger, Gustavo; Robben, Kroos, Ribery; Gomez.
Prediction: After winning four-straight against Bayern, the odds would seem to point in favor of Dortmund completing a league and cup double. But it is rare that any team beats another three times in one season and Bayern may just edge what should be a tight and absorbing battle.
