The Aaron Hernandez murder case shook up the New England Patriots and the NFL when it happened and is also threw many companies and other organizations tied to Hernandez for a loop and now one of those companies has moved on, as Puma has locked up Jamaal Charles to take over for Hernandez as an endorser.
According to NFL.com, Ian Rapoport is reporting that the company has signed Charles to take the open space for Hernandez after they decided to drop him following his murder charges. Charles is one of the most explosive backs in football and is considered to be one of the best young players in all the NFL. Last season Charles had a great year after coming back from serious knee surgery and now he gives the company a new player to deal with after Hernandez was charged and arrested with murder.
Charles and the Chiefs are gearing up for an anticipated game on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly and it marks the return of Reid back to the team he previously coached for many years. The Chiefs are 2-0 this season after winning their opening games and the team looked good against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday despite not getting their best from a few areas. Charles is a dynamic player and gives Puma someone that they feel they can rely on compared with Hernandez.
Hernandez was arrested for the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd a week after his body was found shot to death less than a mile from his home. Hernandez was released by the Patriots the day that he was arrested and now he likely will be in court for the trial in October.
