The third week of the NFL schedule got started off with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night and with fantasy owners looking to rebound after last week or teams looking to dominate again, some players to watch includes Philip Rivers, Charles Clay, James Starks, Aaron Rodgers, Giovani Bernard, Trent Richardson, Coby Fleener and Kellen Winslow as well as Charles Clay, Jason Snelling, Knowshon Moreno and Andre Ellington.

There are plenty of quality players on the waiver wire heading into week 3 for teams, including a number of deep options like Danny Woodhead, Jerome Simpson, Harry Douglas, Daniel Thomas as well as Eddie Royal, who has five touchdown catches already this season, accounting for half of his overall catch totals. The Chargers are an interesting team to look at, as Danario Alexander and Malcom Floyd are injured, yet Philip Rivers was able to throw for over 400 yards last week.

That may have been a symptom of the Eagles pass defense, but at the same time, it is a stark improvement for Rivers, who has seven touchdowns and just one interception after over 30 picks the past two seasons. Rovers has found a nice connection in Royal and some other players that could be worth checking out includes Vincent Brown, Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead, who could be a nice option out of the backfield in the passing game like he was with the Patriots.

The Patriots are also a team to look at, especially with Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola dealing with injuries, making Julian Edelman and Aaron Dobson solid pickups this week against the Buccaneers. The Pats have a solid running game despite Shane Vereen being out, as LeGarrette Blunt and Stevan Ridley are a solid duo, while rookie wideout Kenbrell Thompkins should get better over time.

Some running back options include James Starks, Brandon Jacobs, Andre Ellington and Trent Richardson. Jacobs got some solid touches for the Giants on Sunday and he could be involved more against the Panthers in a must-win game for the G-Men. Ellington is starting to establish himself in the Cardinals offense and head coach Bruce Arians likes having a solid back for third down situations.

Richardson is obviously not a pickup option, but he should be a fantasy trade option, as his value is now up after getting moved to the Colts in a deal from the Broncos. Richardson is now in a better offense for his talents and he also is playing for a much better and more consistent team. Starks rushed for over 130 yards last week and with Eddie Lacy dealing with a concussion, he should get plenty of touches this week.
