The USC Trojans are 2-1 this season after a dominating win at home against Boston College and while the school has been under increased scrutiny due to the mediocre performance since being preseason numbers one last year, the Trojans have a chance to start turning that around on Saturday with a victory at home against Utah State at the LA Coliseum.
Lane Kiffin has been under the microscope over the past couple weeks and after the team lost 10-7 to Washington State, many felt that there could be a coaching change for the Trojans, but so far that doesn't seem like it will happen until the end of the season if it happens at all. The team lost Matt Barkley last season and have had some quarterback issues and now the team will be starting Cody Kessler after Max Wittek had his chances and he is coming in after a game against Boston College that saw him throw for over 230 yards and while the offense has been so-so, the defense has been much more consistent.

The team is not ranked anymore after the loss against Washington and the team got back into a groove after the 35-7 win last week against Boston College and now they will get the chance to continue that play against Utah State. The game will be on ABC in most places and ESPN also has coverage and this comes before the team will have to go on the road for the first time since the season opener and it will be against Arizona State and that came will be covered by ESPN.
The Trojans are coming into the game with a 104 ranked passing offense and that is not very good when you have a wide receiver like Marqise Lee, who finished in the top five of the Heisman voting last season and he has started off well but not compared to last season but things could be heating up this week against Utah State. The team defense is ranked eighth in the nation in points against with just 10 points per game, but now the schedule will get much tougher and after playing against Arizona State, the team will be home against Arizona and then then will be playing on the road against Notre Dame and they are ranked 22nd in the nation now and that game could be a very entertaining matchup.
The schedule doesn't get easy heading into the second part of the season with a home game against Utah and then the Trojans have to go on the road against Oregon State and that game will be covered on ESPN and available online and then the team has another road game against Cal before playing Stanford at home and they are one of the top teams for the national championship out of the Pac-12. The team finishes with a road game against Colorado and then the team has UCLA at home to finish the year and that could be another big game like last season.
