NASCAR Race Results: Matt Kenseth Wins Chase For Sprint Cup Event Second Straight Week At New Hampshire To Top Playoff Standings

The weekend in NASCAR had a different type of race than last week in Chicago, but the results in New Hampshire were the same, as driver Matt Kenseth won the race to take the checkered flag at the Sylvania 300, wining for the second straight week in the Chase For the Sprint Cup playoffs.

According to ESPN.com, Kenseth remains in first place in the standings after winning the race in New Hampshire, keeping himself in position as the Chase continues next weekend. Kenseth has been very good all season, winning seven times total and now he has the chance to put himself ahead of the back before the race in Dover, as he has won two straight races after taking the top spot at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Last week the race had to deal with delays for weather, but on Sunday the skies were clear and Kenseth didn't need help from mother nature, as he now has won both raced in the Chase, this time over teammate Kyle Busch, who made a push but Kenseth was still able to take the win. Kenseth now has a 14-point lead in the standings and depending on how things go next week at Dover, he could push that even farther from the rest of the pack. No driver has won more times this season and after changing teams, he is in a position to get the championship.

Kenseth now holds the lead over Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards, while Greg Biffle is at 38 points back in the top five.
