The Tim Tebow saga is now starting to get a bit sad, as the former Heisman/national championship/NFL playoff game winning quarterback is still a free agent and Jaguars fans continually are rallying to get the team to sign him and all the while, some of his past records are starting to fall from the high school books.
Tebow was with the Patriots until they decided to release him before the season started and while it remains to be seen if the move was a favor to Josh McDaniels or just a failure by Tebow to impress Bill Belichick, the quarterback is still a free agent and his future is very much in the air. On top of that Tebow is starting to lose some of that legendary status back in his home town, as some of his old high school records from his time playing for Nease are starting to fall.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Bishop Kenny quarterback John Wolford is the new holder of the record for Northeast Florida for touchdown passes in a career, as he now is past the record of 95 set by Tebow after throwing five scores last week to win a game. Tebow was in high school in the area from 2003 to 2005 and played for the team while being home schooled and he said after the game he was very excited to have the record.
Tebow fans are hoping that the Jaguars will give him a chance and a group has organized weekly rallies at the Jacksonville Stadium to try and get it going and they also started a website. According to ESPN.com, the first rally came last week and reportedly lasted three hours and 16 minutes after starting at 3:16 pm, to match a bible verse that Tebow has said he likes.
The fans are hoping that the team will at least give him a shot, as fans are starting to get more frustrated after losing again this week to fall to 0-3 with a loss against the Seattle Seahawks on the road.
