The Baltimore Ravens were riding high after winning their second game of the season against the Houston Texans and some members of the team decided to celebrate in wild fashion, as players Jacoby Jones and Bryant McKinnie took part in a party bus with strippers that resulted in Jones getting injured.
According to ESPN.com, a TMZ report detailed the scene on the party bus, writing that there was a fight on the bus that included Jones and a stripper and it resulted in him getting hit over the head with a champagne bottle, but later he said he did not need to go to the hospital after getting treatment on the scene. The report from TMZ was confirmed by ESPN and head coach John Harbaugh and while Jones was injured on the scene, it was nothing serious and did not affect his sprained knee, which he injured in Week 1.
Harbaugh spoke about the incident with reporters on Monday and said he discussed the situation with the players involved and said that the team is focused on preparing for the Buffalo Bills on the road on Sunday. The report from TMZ and ESPN says that police responded to the bus early in the morning on Monday between 3:00 am and 4:00 am and after that was when Jones was checked out for his injuries.
The TMZ report gives the best rundown of things, saying that someone who was at the party said the stripper's name was "Sweet Pea" and that she hit Jones in the head with a large bottle of "Ace of Spades". Citing "sources", TMZ says that the party was for McKinnie's birthday and that after the bottle hit Jones, people intervened and McKinnie ended up getting into a fight with another person. Deadspin.com pointed out that this isn't the first time McKinnie has been involved in an unsavory situation, as he was also part of the Minnesota Vikings sex boat incident from years ago.
The Ravens are coming off of a 30-9 victory in their first home game of the season and now they have won two in a row heading into their road contest in Week 4 against Buffalo. The team will head on the road again to play the Dolphins in Week 5 before playing at home against the Green Bay Packers. The Ravens head into a bye after playing on the road against the Steelers and then they will play two more division games against the Browns and the Bengals before going on the road against the Bears in Week 11.
