The New York Giants have looked terrible through three games this season and their 0-3 record reflects how they have played, but amazingly enough, the team isn't totally out of things and the season is still salvageable, as the Cowboys are atop the division with a 2-1 record.
Washington is 0-3 with the Giants and have already lost to the Eagles, while Philadelphia is 1-2 and have defeated the Redskins in the division. The Giants are only 0-1 in the division after losing to the Dallas Cowboys and while the team has looked terrible, played terrible and are pretty terrible, 0-3 isn't the end of the season and the Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs is now a serious must-win situation.
Eli Manning and the team in general have turned the ball over way too much and the offense was completely out of sync on Sunday, unable to score a point against the Carolina Panthers. The Giants hit rock bottom on Sunday with the 38-0 loss to the Panthers and now the schedule doesn't get any easier, as they must travel to Arrowhead to play the 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs. The Giants season will be over at 0-4 and this feels like a far cry from the team that won the Super Bowl two years ago.
With the Chiefs game being a must win in Week 4, things don't let up in Week 3 either, as the Giants will host the Eagles and luckily for the team, they won't have to endure the boos of their home fans until that Eagles game and they could make everyone forget about their terrible start with a win on Sunday. The Eagles games from the division come in the first half of the season and winning both of those division games is essential to staying in the hunt.
The Giants play three division games in the first half of the season and three in the second half and after losing to the Cowboys, they need to win at least the next four or five left on the schedule. The team plays the Eagles and Bears following the Chiefs and then they will host the Vikings on Monday night football in Week 7 before playing the Eagles on the road ahead of their bye.
After the bye in Week 9 the team has a nice home stand that likely will decide their season. With the Raiders, Packers and Cowboys all coming to town in three consecutive weeks, the Giants could be in the hunt if they win these three games, but if not, they likely will finish under .500. The team has two tough road tests against the Redskins and Chargers and then they host one of the best teams in the league against the Seahawks in Week 15. The final two games come on the road against the Lions and then home against the also 0-3 Redskins in a game that could decide...last place in the NFC East.
