The Los Angeles Dodgers have a 90-66 record and are winners of the National League West division title and while they are heading to the playoffs, the Diamondbacks were mad about how they celebrated and now that news has come out that players peed in the outfield pool at Chase Field, Arizona is fuming.
The news about the Dodgers celebrating in the pool was likely a bit overblown and had some gamesmanship on both the parts of the Dbacks and the Dodgers, but if this new news is true, then that hate against LA was at least somewhat justified. Arizona asked the team not to celebrate on the field, while the Dodgers claimed they thought it meant till the stadium was empty and things ended up getting out of hand when players climbed over the outfield fence to jump in the pool.
That's when things went bad. According Tony Jackson at Dodger Scribe, Deadspin.com writes that there is evidence that at least one player and possibly "multiple" players urinated in the pool during the celebration. Jackson had previously defended the Dodgers after what they did, but after this news came out, he changed his stance, saying that he felt it was "classless" and a "disgusting display". Jackson does not mention any names in the report, but says that he was not happy with the way things look now in the context of the new news.
The news about the pool celebration went national and even reached Congress, as Senator John McCain said he did not like the celebration. The Dodgers are obviously in the playoffs and the Diamondbacks are not, but this new report is not something the franchise wants to be known for and chances are Magic Johnson will give the team a little talk.
