The Aaron Hernandez case will be back in court in early October and until then, his girlfriend and fiance Shayanna Jenkins likely will remain out of sight and as that is going on, people in the Boston area are still selling memorabilia related to the former Patriots star.
According to the Boston Herald, a game ball that Hernandez received before he got his money in his contract extension is for sale in the area, as it was previously sold by him and now the ball is decorated with all the stats from the game as well as his signature. According to the Herald, the ball is from back in 2010 when Hernandez and the Patriots played the Dolphins and he ended up getting the game ball after the victory that day.
The report says that the ball changed hands a couple times and now SportsWorld's Phil Castinetti has the ball and is looking to sell it. According to the article, memorabilia involving Hernandez is still selling well and it could continue to do so through the trial. Hernandez is arrested and charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, an associate from his girlfriend, as he was dating his fiance's sister.
Hernandez is facing life in prison for his crimes and police are still investigating other connections, including his possible link to a double murder in Boston from last year. The case has moved into superior court after an arraignment earlier in the month and he will be back in court in October.
His girlfriend and mother were in court last time around and it is expected that they will be back again when he is in court in October. The case has been described as circumstantial by the defense and things may hinge on whether the state can produce a better witness or more evidence.
