Fantasy Week 4 Wide Receivers: Buccaneers Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams Miss Practice As Mike Glennon Ready For Breakout Start?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a team in disarray and that is being nice about it, as their record is 0-3 after three bad losses and now embattled head coach Greg Schiano will turn things over to rookie Mike Glennon to try and right the ship.

Glennon comes out of North Carolina State after being a third round draft pick and he will take over for Josh Freeman, who has been awful this season while completing less than 50 percent of his passes. Fantasy owners were not pleased with how Josh Freeman has been playing, especially ones with Mike Williams and Vincent Jackson on their rosters, as they both were expected to put up good numbers this season.

Glennon now has the chance to take hold of the starting job with a nice game on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, as the team has a bye week next and he could get another start if he plays well and/or the team wins on Sunday. Making fantasy owners worried on both sides though is the fact that Mike Williams and Vincent Jackson were held out of practice this week on Wednesday.

According to Pro Football Talk, both players were not active during practice in the middle of the week on hump day, as both are dealing with injuries, although the report says neither are too serious. Pro Football Talk writes that both Jackson and Williams are likely to play on Sunday and of the two, Jackson is the one most likely to play, as his is a rib issue while Williams is dealing with a hamstring.

Following the game on Sunday against the New England Patriots, ESPN.com reported that Jackson left that game with a rib issue in the third quarter. After leaving the game the Bucs want to be cautious with Jackson, especially because they are starting a rookie and they want their number one receiver on the field for the game. Schiano said after last week that it was "uncertain" whether Jackson would play or not, but clearly that is not the case, as it appears he will be ready to go, but that still could make some fantasy owners cautious.

Jackson has been productive this season despite Freeman being terrible, making 15 catches for 265 yards and no touchdowns. He has been averaging 17 yards per catch and that partially is due to Freeman, as he has connected on just 15 of 30 targets this year. Freeman has been terrible so far, throwing three picks and just two TDs and when Jackson left last week, he made three catches for 34 yards.

Jackson had his best game in Week 1 with seven catches no 13 targets for 154 yards in the loss to the Jets, but since then he has declined in yards, catches and targets each of the last three weeks and also with his long reception of the game. Williams has not been able to do much either because of Freeman, as he has just 11 catches on 23 targets for 126 yards and one touchdown. Glennon could be a good change for both players and fantasy owners are hoping for just a bit more production than what Freeman was giving.
