The fantasy football season will be a quarter of the way done when this week's games are over and for Week 4 there are plenty of intriguing matchups and some players to watch coming off of injuries include running backs Ray Rice, Reggie Bush and CJ Spiller.
All three are expected to play this week in matchups and owners will be pleased, as both Bush and Rice were forced to miss time for their issues. Spiller owners suffered a big scare over the weekend when the back was injured against the Jets and with it being a leg injury and him getting taken off the field, many thought the worst, but luckily it wasn't anything serious and now he will be playing this week, as he was able to participate in practice with no setbacks.
While Spiller likely will be listed on the injury report for week 4, that doesn't mean much after he practiced all week and even if he is probable, fantasy owners should feel good about starting him. Spiller hasn't gotten off to the start that many predicted, but he did rush for over 100 yards in Week 2 against the Panthers and he could have a better game this week against the Ravens.
The Bills want to get Spiller out into space where is most dangerous and after rushing 10 times for nine yards last week with just one reception, he will get the chance to do more damage on Sunday if he is fully healthy. In the first games of the season he had five catches for 14 yards and since then he has had just four catches, but for PPR league owners, expect more this week as the Ravens will be aggressive and try to force EJ Manuel into making bad decisions and Spiller could end up being a nice check down option throughout the game.
Speaking of the Ravens, Ray Rice owners rejoice, as the running back is expected to be back in action after missing out last week, as he was able to practice, including on Friday and while he was limited in the workout, that means he likely will be ready to play come Sunday. Rice owners have been waiting for a breakout game from him after missing one game and not doing much in two others and now he might be fully healthy, which should be a boon to owners in leagues.
Rice has rushed for just 72 yards this season in two games with just 25 carries and while he has 11 catches, they are for just 44 yards and he has yet to score a touchdown apart from the one he had on the ground in Week 1. Rice has averaged 3.0 yards per carry of less in each of his first two games and the Ravens need him to be back to his old self to have a successful day against Buffalo.
Fantasy owners are hoping for vintage Rice and in the first game of the season he had eight receptions from out of the backfield and owners are hoping for more of that. Reggie Bush is another back that missed time and now he will be on the field for Week 4 as the Lions play a big divisional game against the Bears.
Bush had 25 yards on nine carries and three catches for 44 yards against the Cardinals before being injured and prior to that he had his best game, totaling nearly 200 yards on 25 touches in the Week 1 win over the Vikings. Bush is a big part of the passing game and is huge for PPR owners and he comes into Sunday with seven catches for 145 yards along with 115 yards rushing and he could have a nice day at home despite the Chicago D being tough.
