The Rays at least know they will send Matt Moore to the mound in a battle of lefties in Friday's series opener. You might have to skip work for Game 1, as it starts in the smack of the middle of the day.
Like the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Rays won the Wild Card and will face off against a divisional opponent as Tampa Bay will go to Boston to face the Red Sox. The Rays finished 2013 with a 7-12 against the Sox. They scored 57 runs, while their pitching allowed 71 runs.
The Red Sox do not possess a menacing lineup, but these guys will make you work for every out and they all seem to be on the same page; winning. The Red Sox finished the season with the best record in baseball at 97-65. The Rays will surely have their hands full in their third round of the postseason. So far, clutch hitting and amazing pitching has highlighted and led the Rays to their first two victories. Alex Cobb and David Price did their part, while the Rays' offense has given their hurlers a lead to work with. The Rays have yet to trail in their first two games of the 2013 season.
Do not miss a second of the action and check back with Sports World Report as we will have updated series results and playoff standings as the 2013 MLB Postseason is ready to begin.
