Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Club Will Be Active During January Window As Arsene Wenger Contract Talks Starting Soon

Arsene Wenger has seen his share of headlines about his future at Arsenal for years and after clinching a Champions League spot with a strong finish last year and a good start in the Premier League this year, the Gunners boss is likely on his way to a long term contract.

According to ESPNFC.com, reports from the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror have said that Wenger will be discussing a new contract with Arsenal this year, with the deal being up to three years. The report says Wenger has stated that he hopes to remain with the club for a long time and that his contract will be up after the season and the team wouldn't mind securing him before that. Rams owner Stan Kroenke the top man for the club and he has expressed a desire to continue working with Wenger and news about the contract comes before the team plays next against West Bromwich.

Arsenal has been playing very well lately, starting off with 10 straight wins across their various leagues and their next match in the Champions League after defeating Napoli 2-0 will be against Borussia Dortmund at Emirates Stadium as the first phase continues. The report says that the club could be one that is "active" during the January window for transfers after the slow summer and they could be in line to bring in a top scorer.

Most fans are satisfied with Wenger as manager and while he has brushed off talk to a title this early in the season, Arsenal is shaping up to have a special year with their start after losing to Aston Villa to open Premier League play.
