The Georgia Bulldogs have been unstoppable since their opening season loss to Clemson. Aaron Murray has the offense moving at a great pace. However, as the team faces Tennessee on the road, they will be without one of their biggest weapons, running back Todd Gurley, who injured his knee.
The Georgia offense is already without Malcom Mitchell for the remainder of the season. The team's top wide receiver went down in the game against Clemson, but he does not appeared to be missed as Murray threw four touchdown passes against LSU. Even the loss of Gurley for a game or two will not be a big hit.
The running back ranks third in the SEC, putting up 112.5 yards per game. Without him, Keith Marshall and JJ Green will be the starters in the backfield. Murray is not thinking too long about the loss of the running back, noting it is next-man-up for the Bulldogs when injuries happen.
The Bulldogs can function without a few offensive playmakers because Murray is putting together a Heisman Trophy style season. The quarterback ranks fourth in the nation in passing efficiency. He is set to break Georgia record for most passing yards. Because of Murray, the Georgia offense is averaging 41.2 points per game.
Tennessee's offense has not exactly been as efficient this season as Georgia. The Volunteers are coming off a close game against South Alabama. Quarterback Justin Worley threw three interceptions, two in the end zone. Tennessee has been rotating quarterbacks, but Worley has remained the constant starter for the team.
Against Georgia, Tennessee has not fared well. In the two team's last matchup, Murray went 20 of 26 for 286 yards and two touchdowns. Tennessee kept it close putting up 44 points as well, but eventually fell 51-44. They enter a tough stretch, facing South Carolina and Alabama in the coming weeks.
