Check your local listings for NBA TV as Derrick Rose will look forward to making a return to the court. The Bulls and Pacers will be two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference in 2013. There is no doubt about it. They might finish second and third. Who knows? Maybe this is the year that the Miami Heat are dethroned as they have controlled the conference in recent years.
Last season, the Bulls did not have enough bodies to compete in the second round of the playoffs against the Heat. They were bounced by the Heat after a miraculous first round battle against the Brooklyn Nets. This only proves the Bulls will be dangerous in 2013. With Rose back and hopefully healthy, the Bulls will be able to keep pace with the Heat. However, the Pacers are not too far back in the race.
Indiana also gave the Heat a run for their money in 2013. They will have Danny Granger back in their lineup. The Pacers have weapons now as Granger will join a young and talented squad headlined by big man Roy Hibbert and their rising start, Paul George. As the New York Knicks appear to have taken a step back and the Nets will be too old to compete consistently throughout the season, the only question is what order will the Pacers, Bulls and Heat finish in the standings?
The Bulls have Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and a rising star in Jimmy Butler. Rose will bring an absurd amount of energy to this team and will look forward to bringing a championship to Chicago for the first time since the Michael Jordan days. The Pacers will being their run in 2013 as they look to redeem Reggie Miller and the old Pacers who could not bring a championship to Indiana.
This is the first of many meetings to come in 2013. This is exhibition though, so sit back and enjoy some rusty basketball that will be entertaining nonetheless.
