The Chicago Bulls feel that they have a championship team this season with Derrick Rose returning from his ACL injury and after playing in the preseason for his first true action in months, the point guard said he felt good and did not suffer from any soreness in his knee.
According to ESPN.com, Rose played against the Indiana Pacers in the NBA preseason over the weekend and after not playing in a game since back when he was injured, head coach Tom Thibodeau was happy to see him back in action. Rose played for 20 minutes in the game on Saturday and scored 13 points in the win over the Pacers and now he will try and get himself back to full speed for the start of the season.
Rose has been out of the game for quite some time and after the long layoff, he looked good on the court and the next chance he will get to play is on Monday against the Grizzlies. The Bulls played well without Rose last season, but by the time the postseason came around, it was clear he was absent and now the Bulls feel they can make a run at the championship in 2014.
The team made it into the second round to play the Miami Heat and now Rose will get the chance to challenge LeBron James for MVP, since he is the only one over the last few years to beat him out for one. Last season the Bulls ranked 29th in scoring and Rose's return will help that, while the team was eighth in rebounding and assists and third in defense by points allowed.
"No soreness at all," Rose said. "After the game it felt like I hadn't even played so I guess that's a good sign."
