NLDS Game 5 Schedule: Pirates vs. Cardinals Game Time

Oct 09, 2013 11:02 AM EDT

This is it. No, not the Michael Jackson film. This is the only way the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates could have ended their seasonl; Game 5 with two of their best pitchers on the mound. There is no more tomorrow, only extra innings will allow the battle to go on. Check out the schedule with all TV information including time and channel as the Pirates and Cardinals face off Wednesday night for the last time in 2013.

It's been a long time coming. The two teams first met in a three-game series back on Apr. 15. Fast forward, six months later and these two teams are slugging it out for to officially decide who is the better team in 2013. The N.L. Central has been the most exciting division in baseball and now its two teams will lock up for Game 5.

Game Time: 8 p.m. ET

TV Channel- Where to Watch?: TBS

Not much has changed. TBS will be airing the action and these two teams will meet during primetime. All the series have been well, so much so that viewership is up compared to last year's playoffs. The Pirates' return to the postseason has done great things for baseball and you better believe they do not want the streak to end now.

Pedro Alvarez has enjoyed playing in his first season ever. While Carlos Beltran is nearing the top of the All-Time Playoffs Home Run list, Alvarez is helping himself early on in his career. In four games, El Toro has three home runs, two of which were the only runs produced out of the Pirates' order. Ideally, he would bat behind Andrew McCutchen, who has been one of the most consistent hitters for the Pirates, but why move him up when he's doing such a good job at the sixth spot?

Alvarez is hitting .385 with three home runs and five RBI. McCutchen is hitting .357, but he has nothing to show for it as the top of the order is having trouble getting on base.

The Cardinals truly miss Allen Craig, their RBI man during the regular season who finished with 97 during the regular season. However, Beltran has filled that void, driving half of the Cardinals runs with his six RBI and hitting half of the team's home runs in the series (2), while posting a .286 average and .412 OBP. The Cardinals will need to get production from elsewhere if they are to get any runs across in this game.

On the mound for both teams; Gerrit Cole and Adam Wainwright, who combined for two earned runs over 13 innings of work in their first starts in this NLDS.

TBS is the channel. 8 p.m. ET is the time. Pirates and Cardinals are the teams and Busch Stadium is the place. Do not miss Game 5 of the 2013 NLDS.
