The NFL schedule is moving into Week 6 and that means fantasy football matchups are starting up on Thursday night with the New York Giants visiting the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field and some players that could be sleepers to keep an eye on includes Zac Stacy, Terrance Williams, Andre Ellington, Austin Pettis, Graham Garrett and Alshon Jeffery.
The Giants are 0-6 this season and are desperate for a win and they will be matched up against a Chicago Bears team that has lost two straight since opening the year 3-0, so they will be looking to rebound as well. The game features some solid fantasy options, including Hakeem Nicks, Jay Cutler, Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett, while Alshon Jeffery could be one of the top sleepers of the week. Jeffery has been solid this season as a second wide receiver option for Cutler opposite Brandon Marshall and he is the player the team was hoping Earl Bennett was for years.
Jeffery has increased his yards, targets and receptions in each of the last two weeks and despite losing last weekend against the New Orleans Saints, Jeffrey finished with 10 catches on 13 targets for 218 yards and a touchdown and he could overshadow Brandon Marshall again on Thursday night. The Giants defense has been nothing short of terrible this season and the secondary has been one of the weakest units and that could mean a big night for both Cutler and Jeffery.
Zac Stacy was mentioned as a sleeper last week before the St. Louis Rams played against Jacksonville after Daryl Richardson was hurt the week before and he came through in a nice way, rushing for 78 yards on 14 carries while averaging over five yards per carry. Stacy should be the starting option until he starts to struggle, as the Rams running game had done almost nothing through the first five weeks of the season and while the team was playing the Jaguars, Stacy came through with some consistency and that could mean a solid game against the Houston Texans in Week 6.
Tony Romo and Peyton Manning had a game for the ages on Sunday and while the Cowboys ended up losing, any fantasy owner who started Dallas wideout Terrance Williams likely won their matchup. Williams and Romo connected four times and the wideout finished with 151 yards and a touchdown in by far his best game of the season and now he has increased his receiving yards in each of the last three weeks. Dez Bryant is clearly the number one receiver for the Cowboys, but with Williams emerging, Romo now has a legitimate number two target and that could be a nice boost for fantasy owners.
Andre Ellington, Austin Pettis and Graham Garrett are all trending upwards as well and a very solid pickup for fantasy owners is Garrett, as Texans tight end Owen Daniels will be out for an extended period of time, making him a starter for the time being. Ellington has seen increased yards, touches and carries in each of the past three weeks and he should continue on that streak against the 49ers on Sunday even though their defense is very good. Last week he had 25 yards on seven carries with over seven yards per carry and he also added four receptions for 31 yards, making him even more valuable in PPR leagues, as he has 13 catches already this season.
