Lance Armstrong did not have the best year after the revelations that came about his career and his use of illegal doping and now more information about his past has been revealed in a new book, as singer Sheryl Crow may have been one person to tell federal authorities about his doping.
According to the NY Daily News, the new book titled "Wheelman" that will is set to be published by Reed Albergotti and Vanessa O'Connell, alleges that Crow, who was previously in a relationship with Armstrong, spoke with federal investigators about his past doping and told them about what she witnessed, including his use of illegal blood transfusions. The excerpt says that Crow was with Armstrong during a trip to Belgium and that she saw him getting the transfusion.
The two had a long-term relationship before eventually splitting and after the authorities started looking into Armstrong, they brought in Crow to speak to her about issues in his past related to doping. The book says that Crow spoke to Food and Drug Administration criminal investigator Jeff Novitzky and told them about the transfusion and that came after she was given a "proffer agreement" which would protect her from prosecution in the case.
