The NFL Week 6 schedule started up with the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants on Thursday night and with a number of big games coming on Sunday, there are plenty of players to watch on the injury report, with names like Larry Fitzgerald, Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, Stevan Ridley and Darren McFadden popping up.
Fitzgerald is dealing with a hamstring injury and he is one of the top options for fantasy owners on the Cardinals and he was limited in practice on Thursday and he could be a gametime decision on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers on the road. Fitzgerald was able to practice fully on friday and was listed as questionable for the game, but it appears that he will play on Sunday. Fitzgerald has not put up great numbers this season, but playing against the 49ers could help as Carson Palmer needs targets.
Fitzgerald has been dealing with the hammy for a couple weeks and he is coming off a game when he made three receptions for 43 yards. Calvin Johnson was also listed as questionable in the Lions game on Sunday against Cleveland and while he was able to practice on Thursday and Friday, he was limited both days and while he should play on Sunday, he could be limited. Johnson has not been at his usual pace, making 21 catches for 312 yards and four touchdowns this season and he could have a big game if he plays, as he has scored touchdowns in all three of his past games, going over 100 yards in two of those games. Johnson has had four touchdowns over the past three games and should be a red zone target on Sunday.
The Patriots have some issues with injuries, with Rob Gronkowski and Stevan Ridley dealing with problems and the tight end, who was supposed to possibly come back on Sunday, likely will be out for another game this week. Gronk has been dealing with back and forearm issues from surgery and while he is on his way back from the surgeries and has been practicing, he likely will not be playing on Sunday. Keep an eye on the injury report going into Sunday since it's the late game, but don't expect him to play.
Ridley likely will be playing despite dealing with knee injuries and while he is questionable, he should play against the Saints. Again, owners should keep their eye on the injury report heading into Sunday and he could end up being a game time decision. Adrian Peterson had his son die and he said that will not stop him from playing on Sunday and he likely will have himself a good day playing with all that pain.
