Watch the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers as they play Game 2 of the N.L. Championship Series in Busch Stadium at 4 p.m. ET. If you cannot catch the live action on television, check out MLB.com's streaming action online as the Dodgers look to avoid falling behind 0-2 in this best of seven series.
The Dodgers were managed poorly late in the game. Dee Gordon was on first base running for Adrian Gonzalez, a man who hit 22 home runs and drove in over 100 in 2013. Gordon did not attempt to steal the base and as a result, he was forced out at second. After Gonzalez was removed, Hanley Ramirez, the team's battery on offense, did not see a good pitch to hit as Michael Young came in to play first and clean-up for the Dodgers.
Don Mattingly is already on hot waters as many rumor that he could possibly find his way out of the Dodgers' managerial job at the end of the season. Mattingly's savior, however, will probably be Clayton Kershaw, as he takes the mound in Game 2 against the Cardinals. Kershaw has two solid starts in his pockets in the postseason, helping the Dodgers win both games.
They will play a truly motivated Cardinals team. St. Louis was able to surface as the winners in Game 1 as their hero Carlos Beltran came to the rescue whenever the Cardinals needed help. Beltran provided the offense and defense, driving in three runs and saving a run at the plate in extra innings.
The Cardinals should be confident. They have a red hot hitter and they will have youngster, Michael Wacha, who pitched a terrific game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, keeping the Cardinals in the race. He went 7.1 innings, allowing just one earned run, while striking out nine. It was his first ever postseason start, but the rookie looked more like Justin Verlander on the mound.
On offense, will any other Cardinal step up and provide some offense aside from Beltran? Can the Mattingly remain patient and not remove his stars froma game before things are decided? Watch Game 2, online as the Cardinals and Dodgers hook up for what should be another memorable NLCS matchup.
