Randall Cobb Fantasy Football: Danny Amendola, Cecil Shorts, James Jones and Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Injured In Week 6

The Green Bay Packers dealt with a depleted wide receiving corps on Sunday in their win against the Baltimore Ravens, as stars Randall Cobb and James Jones were injured in the game and did not return after leaving the field, putting Aaron Rodgers in a tough spot with just Jordy Nelson as his main target the rest of the game.

Cobb was injured early in the game after taking a low hit from Matt Elam, which Aaron Rodgers was pissed about after the game, while Jones left the game after injuring his leg. Jones was injured while blocking on a play for Eddie Lacy and Cobb left the game after going up high for a catch and getting hit low by Elam, something many have said the league needs to start looking at, including Rodgers, who said he felt Elam could have aimed his target higher very easily.

Cobb and Jones could be out for an extended period of time and Cobb left the game after four catches with over 50 yards and then left the game, while Jones has made one catch for 10 yards in the game before dealing with his injury. While the Packers ended up winning the game, both receivers could possibly miss time and that left Nelson to catch four balls for over 100 yards and he could be the top fantasy option going forward if either receiver goes down with an injury.

Jones and Cobb have been putting up very solid numbers for the Packers this season, with Jones tops in yards and Cobbs best with 29 catches. Cobb came into yesterday's game after making four catches against the Lions and he has been held under 60 yards over the past three games after starting with two games of over 100 yards, including nine catches for 128 yards against the Redskins in Week 2. James is best on the team with nearly 350 yards receiving and that came on the strength of a 178 yard game against the Redskins and he came into the Ravens game after putting up 127 yards and a touchdown the previous week.

Danny Amendola had already been dealing with injuries before being knocked out against the Saints and while it is not clear that he will be out for next week's game, it is troubling that he had to leave against New Orleans after getting hit. Amendola finished with just two catches and zero receiving yards and now he has played in only three games this season, including the opener when he had 10 catches for 104 yards before hurting his groin.

Cecil Shorts is banged up a bit for the Jaguars and he may have a fractured rib after playing against the Denver Broncos and while he has been a solid option for the team so far, he could be questionable against the Chargers next week. Shorts has 31 catches for an impressive 411 yards this season and he had one game over 100 yards with eight catches for 143 yards against the Seahawks. Shorts and Justin Blackmon have been productive for the team despite the Jags being winless and he is a solid option to look at.
