The Chicago Bulls are heading into a very anticipated season coming up in 2013-14 with the return of Derrick Rose and the team could be looking to make a deal before the start of the regular season, as the franchise is looking into trading Marquis Teague and it appears they have multiple suitors in the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Teague has been one player that Tom Thibodeau has felt he can't rely on in big spots and now he is generating some interest from a couple teams as the start of the season gets closer. According to Pro Basketball Talk, Marquis Teague is an option to get moved by the Bulls and the Utah Jazz are interested after rookie Trey Burke was injured and the report also says that the Timberwolves could also get in on the action for Teague.
The report says that the team has been disappointed with Teague's play this summer and the preseason and after struggling against the Wizards in their last preseason game, they may decide to deal him away to the Jazz or the Timberwolves. Teague averaged 2.1 points per game while playing in 48 games last season and he averaged just under 10 minutes per game with 1.3 assists and under one rebound and he could be a solid bench option for either team.
The Jazz are dealing with a sudden injury to Burke, who is looked at as one of the top players from the draft and he broke a finger on his shooting hand, so that likely will keep him out for some time and he could miss the first month of the regular season depending on how his recovery goes. The team may try and use Teague as a stop gap until Burke returns, as they had high hopes for the rookie after he came out from the Wolverines after averaging 18.6 points, 6.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds while at Michigan.
The Jazz already have John Lucas III, but they want another backup and some depth and Teague could be that option for Utah if they can work out a deal, as ESPN.com reports that Burke could be out for up to 12 weeks with the injury. Teague is a young player at just 20-years-old and while he struggled this preseason, one of those other teams could be a nice fit for him after he averaged nearly 20 points during the summer league in Las Vegas. While the Bulls see potential in him, they are going for a championship this season and will make any move they need to do to reach that goal.
