The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for their next game on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals in a divisional game on the NFL Network and while fantasy owners were hoping that wide receiver Percy Harvin would be back from his injury this week, it appears that he is not quite ready to return.
According to ESPN.com, Harvin is working on getting back to full strength for the Seahawks and while he is eligible to come off the PUP list after being placed on it before the season, he isn't quite ready to get back on the field, but that doesn't mean fantasy owners should ignore him. Harvin is available in most Yahoo and ESPN fantasy leagues and he is a very good stash option for owners to use later in the season, as he could be a very valuable player once he returns to the lineup and that likely will come in a few weeks rather than against the Cardinals.
Even though he is eligible to come off the list, many felt that Week 7 would be too soon for him to get back on the field, but stashing him on a roster spot is a prime option for fantasy owners and that could pay off down the road, as the team has a long break into Week 8 for Monday night football and they also have a late bye this season, making him a solid stash heading into the latter part of the schedule for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks traded for Harvin in the offseason and he was expected to be a primary threat for the team, but since he had to get surgery he has missed the first part of the season and while they signed him to a six-year deal, the team is hoping he can return. ESPN.com reported that Harvin has been getting closer to returning and that his surgery rehab is going better than expected and he could be back around Week 12 for the team.
Fantasy owners that have the space should grab Harvin, as he could be a number one scoring threat when he returns if he is healthy. Last season Harvin finished with 62 catches for 677 yards and three touchdowns and he would be a primary option for a number of fantasy teams if he was healthy and Pete Carroll has said that Harvin is looking to return ahead of schedule.
