Yahoo Sports Fantasy Football Week 7: Joseph Fauria, Randall Cobb, Julian Edelman, Andre Johnson and Josh Freeman (FF Team Analysis)

The fantasy football schedule is into Week 7 and now that the Seahawks and Cardinals will do battle on Thursday night football, it's time to take a look at the fantasy team going forward as I try to dig out of a 1-5 hole in my best league and players on my team like Joseph Fauria, Randall Cobb, Julian Edelman, Andre Johnson and Josh Freeman are ones to analyze.

Randall Cobb is a huge loss for the Packers and fantasy owners and on top of that, Andre Johnson is dealing with a shin injury, although he is expected to play. Joseph Fauria has been lightning in a bottle and hopefully he can sustain the red zone threat he has been this season and having Julian Edelman has helped after Cobb went down and I added Josh Freeman as a sleeper backup since Drew Brees is on a bye this week and while he likely won't do great, the Giants have been terrible and so has my team, so why not?

The Cobb injury is a huge one for the Packers and a big blow for fantasy owners, as he was shaping up to be a top 10 player at his position this season after starting off with two big games. Cobb is one of the most explosive players in the league and after emerging last season he was shaping up as the primary option in the passing game for Aaron Rodgers and now he will be out for at least two months, as he was placed on the IR with a designation to return, but that is no guarantee that he will play again for the Packers this season.

Cobb entered the game against the Ravens as the leading receiver in catches for the Packers and against Baltimore the team also lost its leading receiver in yards with James Jones, who was also knocked out of the game and did not return. The injuries make Jordy Nelson a prime starting option the rest of the season and also makes Jarrett Boykin a solid option until he or Jones returns.

Fauria has only seven catches this season, but five of those have been for touchdowns and over his last four games he has four scores. As a tight end he is a matchup nightmare for other teams and after making three catches, all for touchdowns last week against the Browns, he is a solid starting option going forward and since my team has Rob Gronkowski on the bench, he has been a solid option to go with.

Johnson had a solid game last week despite the injury, making seven catches for 88 yards, but the fact that the quarterback situat6ion is a mess in Houston could be an issue for him putting up numbers. This season he has a nice 44 catches to lead the league and is eight in yards with nearly 500, but he has been held out of the end zone and that issue could continue to build all season. Nick Foles is a solid starting option, as he looked very good last week in Chip Kelly's offense.
