The feud between LeBron James and Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce is only continuing to grow. The three have long had a growing rivalry dating back to when James was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers and constantly losing to the Boston Celtics in the playoffs. Now that everyone has changed teams, the hatred just wears a different uniform. A day after James criticized Garnett and Pierce for their treatment of former teammate Ray Allen, the two are telling the Miami Heat star to mind his own business.
When Allen dismantled the Big 3 and signed with the Heat, Garnett and Pierce disowned him. Garnett claimed to never want to talk to him again. Pierce said he lost Allen's number. Now that Garnett and Pierce are no longer with Boston after a trade to Brooklyn, James is calling them out as hypocrites.
"I think the first thing I thought was, 'Wow, Ray got killed for leaving Boston, and now these guys are leaving Boston,'" James said, via ESPN.com. "I think it's OK; I didn't mind it. But there were a couple guys who basically [expletive] on Ray for leaving, and now they're leaving. That's the nature of our business, man. I don't know what Boston was going through at the end of the day. I know Ray had to make the best decision for him and his family and his career. Doc [Rivers, former Celtics coach], KG and Paul did that as well. You can't criticize someone who does something that's best for their family."
Well, Garnett has a response to James' comments. The Nets star told media that James needs to worry about Miami and mind his own business. Pierce was even more coy saying, "I left Boston?" Both stars have a point. Their situation was much different than Allen's. The Celtics were moving towards a younger roster and the veterans no longer fit that plan.
James feels like he can relate to Allen. After he left the Cleveland Cavaliers for Miami, the All-Star became the villain of the league. His "decision" left him getting harsh treatment like Allen.
"I can relate to that -- you think so? I'm the No. 1 relater," James said. "I've been through it all. I know all about it."
