Bud Adams, the influential owner of the Tennessee Titans and the founder of the Houston Oilers, as died according to media reports. He was 90 years old.
According to Pro Football Talk and other media outlets, the owner was with the franchise since its days in Houston and oversaw the move to Tennessee and helped the team reach 400 wins as a franchise in both cities. Adams hired Jeff Fisher and drafted Vince Young and he also tried his best to sign Peyton Manning, even trying to give him an ownership stake to get him there. According to PFT, he owned his team in Houston since the 1960s before moving in 1997 to Tennessee and now he has passed away from natural causes.
According to PFT, Adams was from Oklahoma and after playing college football at Kansas and serving in World War II, he got into the oil business and that's how he earned his money. After doing that and trying to buy the Chicago Cardinals, he helped the American Football League with the Oilers and was considered a very influential owner.
The Titans are 3-4 this season in the AFC South after losing on Sunday to the San Francisco 49ers are home.
