The New England Patriots were thrilled to have Rob Gronkowski back in the lineup on Sunday and Tom Brady knew he was there, as the quarterbacks hit him with a career high amount of targets and now that he has returned, the TE is the best starting option in the league, even over names like Jimmy Graham, Jordan Cameron and Coby Fleener.
Gronk was back and forth all season and he was finally cleared to play for Week 7 against the Jets and now in Week 8 against the Dolphins he is a prime starting option. Gronkowski was looked at 17 times, a career high according to ESPN.com and he added eight catches and 114 yards to lead the team and he also nearly had two different plays in the game that went for touchdowns.
Gronkowski has been out since having surgery in the offseason and he missed time last season and he was not on the field for the first six games this year. He was wearing noticeable braces on his arm, but he looked good otherwise and made some tough plays, although he almost had a nice one handed catch that may have went for a touchdown at the end of the game. Gronk and Brady were still off on timing a bit, but he looked much better than anticipated and now he is a prime starting option again for fantasy owners.
The Patriots looked much better on third down and in the redzone and Gronk had a long of 30 yards and an average of 14 yards per catch on the day on 17 targets. Jordan Cameron had another solid day and he now is in the top five in receptions and touchdowns and he had seven catches and 55 yards for a score and had seven targets in the game and he has been one of the most consistent players in fantasy. Graham is dealing with a possible injury, making him a cautious start this week and Gronk on top of him and he missed the last game against the Pats for the Saints. Fleener looked good on Monday night and he had five catches for 38 yards and a TD and with Reggie Wayne going down he could be a bigger target.
