The New York Rangers are having a tough season while starting the first few weeks on the road with a 2-5-0 record and now the team has made some major moves, getting rid of Martin Biron and Arron Asham while deciding to recall Chris Kreider, Brandon Mashinter and Cam Talbot.
According to ESPN New York, Kreider will now get another chance with the big league team, while Talbot will be taking over for Biron, who has decided to retire rather than play in the minors. Talbot looked good in his last game with the Hartford AHL affiliate with 39 saves in a victory and now he will be the backup to Henrik Lundqvist.
The Rangers have been terrible this season and are second to last in the Metro division with just four points. They have played seven games and won just two, while not gaining any extra tie points. The team has not been playing its best and they will be up against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday and that is always a tough test.
The team is coming off of another tough loss and now they are 2-5 this season and after losing 4-0 to the Devils, the team needs to make some moves, which is why they brought in the young star Kreider, who was solid in the playoffs last season. The team is ranked 28th in goals per game and 30th in goals against and the team is also ranked 15th in power play and 21st in penalty kill percentage.
