Monday Night Football Fantasy Recap: Peyton Hillis, Rueben Randle, Michael Cox Best As Adrian Peterson, Josh Freeman and Brandon Jacobs Busts For Week 8

Oct 22, 2013 10:14 AM EDT

The New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings played a sloppy game on Monday night football in Week 7 and heading into the next week on the schedule, some names to look at includes Peyton Hillis, Rueben Randle, Michael Cox and Greg Jennings, while Adrian Peterson, Josh Freeman and Brandon Jacobs were busts in the game.

Jacobs did not play on Monday night for the Giants, while Michael Cox and Peyton Hillis were solid playing for him, with Hillis scoring a touchdown and getting the featured amount of carries. Hillis finished with 18 carries with 36 yards and a touchdown and on top of that, he also had five catches for 45 yards and that could make him very valuable going forward, while cox looked good rushing the ball for the game as well. Cox had 11 carries for 23 yards and while the production wasn't there yards wise, the team appears to trust him with over 10 carries and two receptions and he is a solid option in deeper leagues.

Randle ended up with another touchdown, giving him four over the past three games and he had three catches for 40 yards in the sloppy win for the Giants. Adrian Peterson and Josh Freeman were busts, as the team threw over 50 times and did not feed AP the rock and now the offense looks to be in trouble as the season goes on. Jacobs sat out and if he is not ready by next week against the Eagles, he will have a bye week to recover and on top of that, Hillis and Cox get another boost.

Eli Manning is not used to the terrible performance the New York Giants have had in the 2013 season and now that he is facing the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football for the final game on the schedule for Week 7 and the matchup will be live on ESPN from MetLife Stadium in Jersey at 8:30 pm ET.

The Giants are coming into the game winless and in the cellar of the NFC East, while the Vikings are in the bottom of the NFC North and both teams are looking for a victory in the game and that could be tough, as they are desperate and that always can lead to some fireworks. The Giants were not expecting a slide like this with Eli Manning, but all the problems of the past couple years have finally seems to burst all at once, including the turnovers, lack of a running game, lack of a good pass rush as well as a shoddy offensive line that is too old. The Giants now are playing against a team giving up the 30th worth passing yards per game, meaning this is the perfect time

The team has been terrible, but they are coming off of their best game of the season against the Chicago Bears, as they were close until the end and actually rushed the ball and while they lost on another interception, this could be the time for the team to finally turn things around. Manning has been better despite the picks the past couple weeks and everything is shaping up for the team to win, as the Vikings have a new quarterback running the offense, some of their best players are banged up and on top of that, the team also has to travel on the road after the Giants got a long week off from playing on Thursday night. If New York can't win this game at home, they probably just aren't winning this season.

The Giants come into the game after losing six games and none of them were really that close and after being embarrassed all season it's time to see how much pride the Giants have in themselves as they try and pull things out for 2013. The team is coming off of the loss against the Bears and after playing against the Vikings they will have another tough divisional matchup against the Eagles on the road and that comes before their bye in Week 9. The team then has three home games and they could be tough, as they host the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and then the Dallas Cowboys before hitting the road for two more games.

The Giants have the Washington Redskins in their second straight divisional game and then after that they will travel to another unfriendly place, as the San Diego Chargers are on the road next and that's always fun for Eli, who has played there before since spurning the team at the draft a decade ago. The team finishes the season with another tough stretch, as they host the Seattle Seahawks and then travel to the Detroit Lions before hosting the Washington Redskins in Week 17. Last time the team played Seattle at home it didn't go too well and now they will try and get their first win of the season on Monday night football against the Vikings on ESPN starting at 8:30 pm from MetLife Stadium and streaming on Watch ESPN.
