Monday Night Football Schedule: Seattle Seahawks and Rams Week 8 With Game 5 World Series At Busch Stadium Makes St. Louis Center Of Sports Calendar

Oct 25, 2013 10:50 AM EDT

The Monday Night Football matchup in Week 8 will have some added spice this coming week, as the St. Louis Rams will be playing the Seattle Seahawks and just a mile down the road, the St. Louis Cardinals will be hosting a possibly clinching Game 5 World Series matchup against the Boston Red Sox, making the city the center of the sports world for the night.

The Cardinals know that there will be a Game 5 now that they defeated the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 of the World Series and that matchup has the potential to be a clinching one, as either team could win the next two games to go up 3-1 in the series. The World Series has been a nice matchup between the two teams and the Rams will obviously be the secondary game on Monday night, although it could be very entertaining with the Seahawks coming to the Dome with Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch.

The Rams come into the game in a tough situation, as they lost quarterback Sam Bradford to an ACL injury and while they called Brett Favre, it is likely that Kellen Clemens will be the starter on Monday, a steep drop off from Bradford. The Rams are 3-4 this season after losing to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and they are now in a tough situation, as they have a hard upcoming schedule and a quarterback gap with the rest of the league. The Rams have won over the cardinals, Jaguars and Texans this season, not any decent teams there, and now they face the Seahawks before playing against the Titans and the colts in the next two weeks.

The team has a much needed bye in Week 11, but after that the schedule doesn't let up, as they play the Chicago Bears coming out of the break and then they have a huge road game against the San Francisco 49ers, which comes after the team already won the first matchup at home. The Cardinals are next on the road and then the team plays against the New Orleans Saints before playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team then finishes the season with the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17 and that will be a road game.

The Seahawks come into the matchup as one of the best teams in the league at 6-1 and they have only lost in a close game to the Indianapolis Colts. The team will have another Monday night matchup later in the season against the Saints, but before that they will play against the Bucs, Atlanta Falcons and the Minnesota Vikings and that comes before a bye week. The back stretch features big games, including road tests at the Niners and the Giants and then the team finishes with two home games against division rivals in the Cardinals and the Rams.
