Matthew Stafford scored the winning touchdown for the Lions and Detroit won over the Dallas Cowboys by the score of 31-30 after a late touchdown to end the game and now the team is down another loss after letting the comeback happen.

The Dallas Cowboys are coming into a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sunday and this comes after a win over the Eagles and now the team has a chance to push the lead in the NFC West and they are playing against a tough team in the Detroit Lions and they are a high scoring offense and the game will be live on Fox on Sunday.

The Lions come into the game after a tough loss against the Bengals and the Cowboys and the Lions are two of the top passing offenses in the league and they also have two units that give up a ton of passing yards and that means that Tony Romo and Matthew Stafford could put up some big numbers in the game. both team are dealing with injury issues and the running backs are the focus, as Reggie Bush is banged up and DeMarco Murray is out for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and both teams will be trying to figure out ways to get around the back issues and both teams have prime receivers in Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant and that could mean big games for the receivers and for both quarterbacks and the Lions and Cowboys both need the win on Sunday and it should be a tight matchup.

Another team that is dealing with injury issues including the Patriots with Danny Amendola as well as players on defense. The New England Patriots have dealt with a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball this season and after losing Vince Wilfork for the year already, there is a chance that linebacker Jerod Mayo will also miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery and the offense will need to step up as well now that rob Gronkowski is back in action.

According to ESPN.com, Mayo could be out for the season after getting surgery for a pectoral injury that happened in the comeback win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The report says that Mayo underwent surgery on Tuesday and was later seen in a sling and now there is a chance that another defensive starter could be done for the season for the Patriots, who have also suffered a number of injuries on the offensive side of the ball.

Mayo has been one of the most consistent players for the Patriots on defense since being drafted in the first round and it could mean another Pro Bowl player is done along with Wilfork. The defensive tackle tore his Achilles a couple weeks ago and is out for the season and that could be a big blow for the defense. The team is 5-1 despite losing Shane Vereen, Rob Gronkowski, Wilfork, Danny Amendola and Stevan Ridley this season and they had a dramatic comeback victory over the Saints on Sunday. Tom Brady hit Kenbrell Thompkins with a touchdown pass with less than 10 seconds to go and now the team is gearing up for a division game on the road against the Jets.

The Patriots are ranked 13th in passing yards allowed per game with just over 220 and are ranked 24th in rushing yards allowed per game and now Bill Belichick will have to figure out a way to recover after losing both Wilfork and Mayo. After playing the Jets, the team plays two home games against the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers before heading into their bye week and that leads to their first Monday night football game of the season against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. The following the week the team has a hugely anticipated game against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos and that game will be at home in Gillette Stadium.
